Privacy Policy

SetupMyHome, a registered trade name of IO IT Services Corporation, is a move-in concierge for homebuyers in Newmarket and Aurora, Ontario. We take the privacy of your personal information seriously and handle it under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What we collect and why

We practise data minimization: we ask only for information a specific task actually requires. A field with no documented purpose does not appear on our forms. Typical information includes your name, contact details, move address, and closing date.

What we never collect or do

• We never store your provider usernames, passwords, PINs, or security answers.
• We never collect, transmit, or store your Social Insurance Number.
• We never collect or transcribe your full credit-card or bank-account numbers.
• We never impersonate you or imply that we are the account holder.
• We never relay your credit-check consent — you consent to a provider directly.
• We never give legal, insurance, financial, mortgage, or real-estate advice.

Authorization and control

We only act on your behalf through a written, scoped, revocable Service Mandate that names the providers we may contact, the actions we may take, and an expiry date. You can change or revoke that authority at any time, and we keep a record of exactly what was done in your name.

Storage and safeguards

We prefer Canadian storage and protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and audit logging. Sensitive documents such as identity images are kept only as long as needed and then deleted.

Your rights
